Aapnabazar Women Farmer Producer Company Limited

This company belongs to the women farmers around Berhotatijhariya village in Bishungarh. We work out of a space provided by Subhash Prasad Kushwaha. Hazaribagh is our home district, and this is where we grew up and learned how to farm. Being a women’s collective is important to us because we do so much of the work in the fields anyway. We decided to put our heads together and start Aapnabazar to handle our own produce. It isn't always easy. We have to balance our homes and the work in the fields, plus the paperwork for the company. We meet up regularly to talk about what we are growing this year. Mostly, it's about making sure we get a fair shake for the vegetables and grains we produce. The village is small, so news travels fast. If someone has a problem with their land, we hear about it. We don't have a big marketing budget or a shiny website. We just rely on each other and our knowledge of the local soil. It’s a practical way of living. We see the seasons change and we adapt. Bishungarh has a lot of farming families, and we are just one part of that community. Our focus is on the daily grind, the planting, the weeding, and finally the harvest. We hope this keeps our families going for a long time. It’s just us, working the land together. We just keep our heads down and do the work.
