Sri Lakshmi Rice Mill

You can find Sri Lakshmi Rice Mill over at 36-2-1, Ganesha Temple Street in Channarayapatna. Being so close to the temple means there is always something going on nearby. Our building isn't anything special to look at, just a functional space where we process rice for the people in town and the surrounding villages. We spend most of our time dealing with the grain that gets dropped off. It is dusty work, and you usually go home with a layer of fine powder on your clothes. The machinery is old but it still runs fine if you know how to treat it right. We don't have a website or anything like that because we mostly just talk to people face to face when they come by. Channarayapatna is a busy enough place, and Ganesha Temple Street gets a lot of foot traffic. We usually start early in the morning before it gets too hot inside the mill. There is a lot of noise when the rollers are going, so we don’t do much talking while the work is happening. We just focus on getting the bags filled and stacked up. It is a simple way to make a living, and we have been doing it this way for years now. We don't worry about being the biggest mill, we just want to make sure the rice comes out clean for the customers.
