Prashanth Rice Industries

Prashanth Rice Industries is our family business down at 270/1 on Lokikere Road. We are situated very close to the industrial area, so there is always a lot of heavy traffic. You will see big lorries and tractors moving past our gate all day long. It gets quite noisy with the sound of engines and the clanking of the machinery inside our shed. We have a large space to keep the grain dry, but it always feels a bit full. The road outside is paved but it gets very dusty when the wind picks up. We spend our mornings checking the loads that come in. It is a lot of standing around and watching the scales. We don't have a fancy office with air conditioning. We just have a small wooden desk in the corner with a ledger and a couple of plastic chairs for visitors. The walls are a bit stained from the years of work, but the roof doesn't leak and that is what matters. Most of our workers live nearby. We all just get on with the job without much fuss. Being near the industrial area means we are surrounded by other workshops and factories. It feels like a place where things actually get made. We don't spend money on marketing or big signs. The name is just painted on the wall. We know our place in the community. It is a straightforward way to make a living, and we plan to stay right here on Lokikere Road for many more years.
