If you walk down Lakshmipuram Extension 2nd Cross in Aralepet, you’ll find Happy Kids Pre School. It is a bit tucked away, but most folks in Hassan know where it is. Being a pre-school means it is never really quiet here. We have toys scattered around and little chairs that are always being moved. The floors get scuffed up pretty fast, but that’s just what happens when you have toddlers running around all day. We try to keep things organized, though it feels like a losing battle sometimes. The walls are covered in drawings that the kids made, some of them are just scribbles, but they look alright. We aren't a big corporate chain. It’s just us and a couple of helpers making sure the little ones are safe and busy while their parents are at work. Aralepet is a busy area, so there is always noise from the street, but we get used to it. We spend our time wiping up spills and telling stories. It is exhausting work, to be honest. By the time the last child leaves in the afternoon, we are usually pretty tired. But then we clean up the blocks, put the books back on the shelves, and get ready to do it all over again the next morning. It’s just a simple, local place for families who need someone they can trust with their kids for a few hours. Nothing more to it.
