If you know Sakaleshpura, you know how green and wet it gets during the monsoon. We are located at Bisle Ghat Resort, way out in Mankanahalli, which is part of Hetur Hobli. It’s not the easiest place to reach if you’re used to city roads. Our address is Sy No 151, and it’s basically just land and trees all around us. We spend a lot of time dealing with the weather here. When it rains, it really pours, and we’re often out checking on the paths or making sure the pipes haven't clogged up with leaves. Living and working here is a bit different than what people expect. It’s a lot of physical work, like fixing fences or talking to the local workers from the village. The resort keeps us busy, but it’s a slow kind of busy. We don't have fancy office meetings; mostly we just chat about what needs fixing over a cup of strong coffee. Mankanahalli is a small place where everyone knows what's going on. We try to keep things simple and honest. Sometimes the monkeys cause a bit of trouble or a tree falls over, and we just have to deal with it. It’s a quiet life for the most part, away from the noise of the main towns. We’ve been here for a while now, and we’ve just become part of the landscape in this corner of Sakaleshpura. It’s quite peaceful most days. We like the slow pace and the fresh air.
