Markandeswara Brick Industries

We've been at this spot near Harapanalli Road in Guttur for quite a while now. Most days start early here at Markandeswara Brick Industries because the sun gets hot pretty fast. People around Guttur know where we are. It’s mostly just us handling the clay and the kilns. Sometimes the weather makes it hard, like when it rains too much and the bricks won't dry, but that's just part of the job. We don't have a fancy office or anything like that. It's just a dusty yard where we get the work done. You'll usually find a few of us moving stacks around or checking the fires. We don't spend much time on the computer or writing things down, we just focus on making sure the bricks are solid enough for whatever someone is building. The road outside can get busy with trucks, especially during the peak season. It’s a lot of manual labor, and our hands are always dirty by the end of the shift. We’ve seen a lot of houses go up in this area using what we make here. It’s not a complicated business, but it keeps us busy from Monday to Saturday. If you walk past the site, you'll see the stacks piled high. We just keep doing what we know how to do, day in and day out, right here in Guttur. No point in making it sound more special than it is.
