Green Italian Food

We are located inside the Green Hotel in Swargashram. Rishikesh - 249304 is a place where people come for many reasons, mostly for the ashrams and the river. Being near Parmarth Ashram means we see a lot of people in orange robes and also a lot of foreign travelers. We decided to do Italian food because people wanted something different from the usual dal and rice. It’s not a fancy Italian restaurant like you’d find in a big city. We make the dough ourselves and the sauces are done in small batches. The kitchen is hot, and we are always busy when the yoga classes let out. It’s a simple room with some tables and chairs. We don't have a big staff. Usually, it’s just a couple of us handling the orders and the cooking. Sometimes the oven takes a bit longer to heat up, so people have to wait. We just tell them to relax and enjoy the vibe of the place. You can hear the Ganga flowing not too far away if the street isn't too noisy. We aren't trying to win any awards. We just want to serve a decent meal to people who are tired after a long day of walking or meditation. It’s practical and it works for us and the guests. We just stay here and cook what people like to eat.
