Our place, Country Inn & Suites By Carlson Haridwar, sits right on the Haridwar Rishikesh Highway. It’s a busy stretch of road, especially with Shanti Kunj being so close by. You can hear the trucks and cars going past at all hours, but inside it stays a bit quieter. We get a mix of people, some going to Rishikesh for the water and others staying here for the temples in Haridwar. The building has been here for a while and shows its age in small ways, but we keep it clean. The staff here are mostly local guys who have grown up in this part of Uttarakhand. We don’t have a lot of flashy stuff, just the usual rooms and a dining area where people grab a bite before heading back out on the highway. Mornings are usually the busiest time because everyone wants to leave early to beat the traffic. Sometimes the heat in the summer gets quite intense, so the air conditioning stays running pretty hard. We see a lot of families traveling together, often piled into big cars. There is plenty of space for parking out front, which is good because the highway gets narrow in spots. We just focus on getting people in and out without making things complicated. It is a simple operation on a very busy road, and we just try to keep things moving along smoothly every single day.
