Plot No - 14, Sector - 3 Sidcul is where we are based. Being out here in the Sidcul industrial zone means we are surrounded by all kinds of factories and warehouses. Our place, Varahamurti Flexirub Industries, is right in the middle of all that activity. We make rubber products, so the air usually has that heavy, burnt smell that you just get used to after working here for a week. It is a large plot of land, but it fills up fast with raw materials and finished goods waiting to be loaded. The machines are loud and they run for long hours, especially when we have a big batch of orders to finish. It is dusty work and by the end of the shift, everyone looks a bit tired and worn out. We have a small staff room where we eat our lunch, usually sharing whatever people brought from home in their tiffins. There is no air conditioning in the main workshop, so the summers are pretty tough on everyone. We just keep the big industrial fans blowing and drink plenty of water to stay cool. The road outside is often bumpy from all the heavy trucks passing through. We have had to fix our own gate a couple of times because of the constant vibrations from the traffic. It is a gritty environment, far from the clean offices you see in magazines. We just focus on getting the rubber molded right and keeping the equipment running.
