Padira Seed & Farms

At Padira Seed & Farms, we spend most of our time dealing with dirt and seeds. The shop is over at 4-13 in Gopalpur, specifically in the Kanakadurga Colony area of Hanamkonda. It started because there was a need for a place nearby where farmers and gardeners could grab what they needed for their plots. We stock various seeds depending on the season, so the inventory changes throughout the year. It’s not a shiny showroom; it’s more of a functional warehouse space where bags of grain and supplies are stacked up. Sometimes it’s dusty, and the smell of fertilizer is pretty strong, but that’s just how it goes with this kind of work. We talk to a lot of locals about what they're planting and how the weather is affecting their crops. My hands are usually a bit dirty from moving sacks around. We aren't trying to be the biggest supplier in the state, just a steady place for the people in Hanamkonda. We keep simple records and try to make sure we have the basics in stock when the planting season hits. It’s a quiet life for the most part, except for the busy harvest times. If you come by, you’ll likely see me or a family member sorting through the stock. We don't use fancy software, just a notebook and some common sense to keep things running. The floor is concrete and often has spilled seed on it.
