Southhailakandi Farmer Producer Company Limited is based over in Dholoi. Braja Kishore Singha helps look after things there. Hailakandi is where we all live and work. We are just a bunch of farmers who realized that things work better when we stick together. It is a bit of a trek to get to some of our fields, and the roads aren't always in the best shape, especially when the monsoon hits. We don't have any fancy brochures or a dedicated sales team. Most of our work is done out in the dirt, planting and harvesting whatever the season allows. Our meetings are usually just us standing around talking about what needs to be done next. It’s not a polished operation. We have papers stacked on old tables and we spend more time on our tractors than in front of a computer. We are just trying to make sure the farming in South Hailakandi stays viable for us and our kids. It’s a tough way to make a living sometimes, but it’s what we know. We don't use big words to describe what we do because farming is pretty simple at its heart. You put in the work and hope for a good yield. That is pretty much the whole story for us here in Dholoi. We keep our heads down and work.
