Salchapra Agri Horti Farmer Producer Company Limited is based out of Abdul Khallil Laskar’s house in Sridharpur. We are in the Cachar district of Assam. It is a small place near Salcha. Most of us here focus on agriculture and horticulture. We grow different things depending on the time of year. It’s a group of local farmers coming together. We don't have a big fancy headquarters. Just a spot in the village where we meet up. Life in Cachar is centered around the fields. We deal with the usual problems like the weather and the price of seeds. It’s a very practical way of living. We started this because it was better than working alone. Everyone in Sridharpur knows the Laskar house. We are just normal people trying to make a living from the earth. There are no suits or ties here. We wear our work clothes and get our hands dirty. The crops we grow go to the local markets. Sometimes things go well and sometimes they don't. That is just farming for you. Our post office is in Salcha. We’ve been here for a long time.
