Jain Fruit Icecream

Our shop, Jain Fruit Icecream, is located in the Lashkar area of Gwalior. We operate out of the space belonging to Dhannalal Madanlal Jain, which is right in Daulatganj. You can find us pretty easily because we are directly opposite the Ashirwad Showroom. This part of town is always crowded with shoppers and people moving goods around. We have been making ice cream for quite a while and it’s a process we do ourselves. We use a lot of fruit and try to keep things tasting the way they should. The shop isn't very big and it can get a bit cramped when it’s hot outside and everyone wants something cold. We have some old benches where you can sit, but most people just stand on the sidewalk. Gwalior gets really hot in the summer so those are our longest days. We stay open late into the night because that is when the market finally starts to cool down a bit. My father and I handle most of the daily tasks, from getting the fresh fruit in the morning to cleaning the machines at night. It is a family thing and we’ve been in this same spot for years. We don’t bother with advertisements or anything like that. People just know us for being there in Lashkar.
