Asian Engg Works

Our workshop is right on Ghuna Road, just across from the Shiv Dharam Kata. It’s a good spot because everyone knows where the colony gate for Pawan Vihar is. Asian Engg Works has been sitting here for a good bit now. We do mostly repair work and making small parts for people in the area. There is always something humming or clanking in the back of the shop. Sometimes the power goes out in the afternoon and we just sit outside on the stools for a bit until it comes back on. It’s just part of the daily routine here. We aren't a big corporation with fancy titles. Just a handful of us working with our hands and using the machines we've had for years. The floor is stained with grease and the walls have some old calendars and notes tacked up. People from Pawan Vihar Colony walk past and wave while we are working. We try to keep the tools organized, but it gets messy when we have a big job to finish by the weekend. The main workbench is where we spend almost all our time. We don’t have a website or a social media page. People just find us by the address or because a neighbor told them where to go. It's simple work but it keeps us busy from Monday to Saturday every week. We open the shutters early and usually head home once the sun goes down and the road gets quiet.
