Suman Dev Choudhury

I work out of House No. 30 on Naharani Path, which is in the care of Dr. Balen Das here in Dispur. It’s a quiet residential street, which is nice because I don't have to deal with the main road noise all day. My setup is quite simple. I have a room where I keep all my books and my desk. It’s not a big office with a sign outside or anything like that. Most people who come to see me are friends or people who heard about me from someone else. I’ve been doing this for a while now, just working on various projects and helping out where I can. I don’t have a staff or a secretary, so if the phone rings, I’m the one who answers it. Sometimes I’m out in the field and the house is locked up. It’s a very informal way of doing things, but it works for me. I like the fact that I can take a break and walk in the garden for a bit when my head gets tired. The neighborhood is friendly, and we all know each other. I’m not trying to build a big empire or get famous. I just want to do my work quietly and make sure I’m doing a good job for the people who trust me. It’s a personal way of working, and I think people appreciate that I’m just a real person they can talk to. I've stayed here for years and it suits me well.
