We’re up on the fourth floor of Dihang Arcade on G.S. Road in Tarun Nagar. Guwahati can be quite a rainy place, and being in this building gives us a good view of the traffic below. We spend our time managing the dairy business from this office. It’s where the planning happens and where we talk to the farmers and the guys who run the delivery routes. G.S. Road is usually jammed, so we try to time our visits to the plant carefully. The office in Dihang Arcade is simple. We have our files, some computers, and a lot of phone calls to make. Dealing with milk means everything has to happen fast because nothing stays fresh forever. We don't have any big marketing slogans. We just try to make sure the milk gets from the source to the fridge as quickly as possible. Some of us have worked here since the beginning, so we know all the quirks of the dairy industry in this region. We aren't into the whole corporate lifestyle. We wear normal clothes and talk about the price of cattle feed and logistics. The 4th floor is a quiet place to work compared to the street noise down on G.S. Road. We just keep our heads down and focus on the daily tally of liters and deliveries. It’s what we know and what we do every day.
