Pankaj Khandelia

We have been here at Parmeshwari Building for a while now. It is on the 4th floor, so there is a bit of a walk up if the lift is acting up, which happens sometimes. Chatribari is a busy part of Guwahati, mostly crowded in the mornings when everyone is trying to get to work. Our office is just a regular room with some desks and chairs. We keep our files organized on the shelves, though it gets a bit dusty because of the road outside. Pankaj Khandelia started this place because he needed a spot in the city that was central enough for people to visit. Most days it is just us handling the paperwork and answering the phone. There is a tea stall nearby that we use a lot. The weather in Guwahati can get quite humid, so the fan is always running in the office. It isn’t a fancy place with glass walls or anything like that. It is just where we come to get things done. Sometimes it gets noisy when there is a lot of traffic on the street below, but we are used to it by now. The neighbors in the building are mostly other small offices too. We don’t really have a big sign outside, just a small one on the door so people know they found the right floor. It feels like a second home after spending so many hours here every week.
