Our office is over at No. 36 on Col. J Ali Road, right in the Lakhtokia area. It’s a busy spot, and sometimes the noise from the street comes right through the windows. We’ve been set up here for some time now. Kamrup Tourism isn't a big flashy agency with posters everywhere. It's just a small space where we sit down and figure out travel plans for folks. Lakhtokia is always moving, so there is never a dull moment outside. We get a lot of people just walking in to ask about train times or where the buses go. We don't have a big staff, just a couple of us who know the roads around here pretty well. If you come by, you’ll probably see piles of maps and some old notebooks on the desks. We don't use much fancy software, just the basics to get things booked. Sometimes the power goes out in the afternoon, so we just sit and chat until it comes back on. It’s a very local way of doing things. People in the neighborhood know us by name. We don't try to act like a big corporation because we aren't one. We just like talking about trips and helping people get where they need to go without too much fuss. It gets a bit hot in the summer, but we have a fan that works most of the time. It’s just a normal office on a normal street.
