It is a busy part of town, so parking is usually a bit of a nightmare for anyone coming to see us. We have been working out of this spot for a while now. The mill is tucked away a bit, but the smell of the grain usually tells you where we are. We don't have any big corporate goals, we just process the rice that comes through. My uncle started this place, and I kind of just took over things. Most of our day is spent checking the moisture in the grain or fixing a belt that snapped on one of the motors. It is greasy work and our hands are always dirty. We get a mix of people coming in, from small-scale farmers to guys with bigger trucks. The floor is always covered in husks no matter how much we sweep it. We don't use any fancy computers for our tracking, mostly just a big ledger book that is getting pretty worn out. It works for us, though. We stay open late during the harvest because there is just too much to do. It is a living, and it keeps us busy.
