K. P. Hardware

K. P. Hardware is a small place on Sa Road in Kumarpara. It's not one of those massive warehouses you see in the big cities. We’re more of a local shop where you can find the basics without having to drive forever. The shelves are packed with all sorts of things—nails, tools, hinges, and whatever else people around here need for their houses. It’s a bit cramped inside, and if two people are in the same aisle, someone usually has to move. We don’t have a computer system that tracks everything perfectly; it’s more about knowing your inventory by looking at it. The floor is old wood and concrete, and it has that specific smell of metal and oil that every hardware store has. Sometimes we spend half the morning just talking to folks from the neighborhood who stop by to fix a leaky pipe or a broken gate. We aren't trying to be the biggest store in the state. We just want to be the place where you can get a handful of screws and some advice on how to use them. The rain sometimes leaks a little near the front door, but we put a bucket down and keep going. It’s a simple life on Sa Road. We open early, sweep the front, and wait for the first customer to walk in. It’s just us doing what we know how to do, day in and day out. We don't need much more than that to keep things running.
