J. M. Trading Co.

The office for J. M. Trading Co. is on the first floor of House No-31 in the Nandanpur Path area of Beltola. It is a residential-looking building, so you have to know where you are going to find us. We deal with trading, which basically means we spend our time talking to suppliers and customers on the phone. There is a lot of inventory to keep track of, and our space is often filled with boxes waiting to be moved. Walking up those stairs every day is part of the routine. We have a few desks where we handle the billing and the logbooks. It is not a very modern setup, but it gets the job done for us. Beltola can get quite congested, so we have to plan our pickups and deliveries around the traffic. Sometimes we are just sitting there waiting for a delivery truck that is running late. We have our tea breaks and talk about the business or what’s happening in the neighborhood. It’s a very grounded way of working. We don’t have a big corporate structure; it’s just a few of us handling the daily trades and making sure the numbers add up at the end of the month. We focus on the goods we are moving and try to keep our customers satisfied with what we provide. It is a straightforward trading business without any extra frills.
