Canewood Handicraft

You can find us right on A.T. Road in Paltan Bazar. We are directly across from Hotel Rajmahal, which makes us pretty easy to spot even when the traffic is heavy. The shop is full of things we have been working on. There is usually the smell of cut wood and some varnish in the air. It is not a quiet place because the street outside is always buzzing with people and rickshaws. We have stuff stacked up in the corners, and sometimes it gets a bit crowded when a new shipment comes in. We do not have a big team, just a few of us who know how to handle the materials. Some days are slower than others, but there is always something to fix or polish. The light in the front of the shop is better, so that is where most of the finishing happens. We have been in Paltan Bazar for a long time now. We know the other shop owners nearby and often chat with them during lunch. It is a busy part of town, so things never really stay still. If you walk in, you might see us covered in a bit of dust or holding a tool. We don't use fancy computers for everything; a lot of it is still done with notebooks and pencils. We just try to make things that look decent and last a while. That is pretty much our day from start to finish.
