Setting up a business near the LGBI Airport in Borjhar means there is always noise from the planes overhead. I’m located right by Azara, not far from the Don Bosco and GIMT engineering colleges. It’s a lively area because of all the students walking around between classes. I started Saurav Jb Photography because I wanted to stay in this part of Guwahati instead of moving to the city center. A lot of my day is spent around these colleges or near the airport gates. I don't have a fancy reception desk or anyone to answer the phones for me. If you call, you’re just talking to me. I keep my equipment in a small bag and I'm ready to move whenever someone needs a photo taken. The humidity here can be a bit much for the gear sometimes, so I have to be careful. I’ve seen this area change a lot over the years with new buildings going up near the airport. It feels good to be a local name here. I don't do much advertising; usually, people just hear about me from a friend or see me working at a local event. It’s not a glamorous life, just lots of walking and waiting for the right moment to click the button. I try to keep my prices fair so the college kids can afford a decent photo once in a while. That's about all there is to it.
