The Nuh Vikas Cooperative L&C Society Ltd.

Our office is just a regular house, number 41, over on Gas Agency Road. It’s right near Doctor Shahid Hospital, so there’s always people walking by. Being a cooperative means we have a lot of members coming in to discuss projects. It gets crowded in the front room where we have the main table. We deal with labor and construction stuff mostly. It’s a lot of talk about contracts and sites. We don’t have fancy uniforms or anything like that. Just some people who know the local area trying to organize work for the society. The road outside can get dusty when the trucks go past the gas agency. We keep the door open usually to let some air in. Sometimes the hospital noise drifts over, but we’re used to it by now. We’ve been operating from this house for years. It feels more like a home than a business place, which suits us fine. We have a small kitchen in the back where we make tea for anyone who drops in. Everyone knows where we are. If you ask for the L&C society near the hospital, someone will point you here. We handle the paperwork and try to make sure everyone gets their fair share of work. It’s a simple setup, but it works for what we need. We’re just local folks helping each other out. We stay busy with the paperwork and the people.
