Our place is tucked behind Geeta Bhawan Mandir, which makes it easy for folks to find us once they know the landmark. Being at Plot No.64/28 in Jyoti Park is good for us because it’s quiet enough to get work done without too many distractions. We deal with various supplies and general items that people in the neighborhood need for their daily lives. It started as a small single room and we just kept adding more shelves over the years as we got more stock. It’s a bit cramped inside now with all the boxes piled up. My brother usually handles the customers at the front while I look after the inventory in the back room. Sometimes we forget to update the ledger right away when things get busy, but we always catch up by the evening. The kids from the park sometimes run past and make a lot of noise, but we don't mind. We like it here though. It feels like home more than a business most days. We keep the shop open until late evening so workers can stop by on their way back home. If the door happens to be locked just knock, one of us is usually around the back. We don't do anything flashy or have big advertisements. It's just simple trading and helping out whoever walks through the door.
