Prempal Battery & Engineering Workshop

Prempal Battery & Engineering Workshop is located right at Naharpur Chowk on National Highway 36. Being next to the highway means we get a lot of noise from the big trucks and cars speeding by all day and night. The workshop is a bit greasy and has tools lying around everywhere because we are always in the middle of some project. It’s a practical space where we fix things and deal with batteries that have given out. We have been at this spot for a long time and everyone around Naharpur Chowk knows where we are. It’s not the cleanest place in the world but that’s the nature of engineering work. We get our hands dirty and we work until the job is done. Sometimes we stay late if a vehicle is stuck and needs to get back on the road quickly. The air smells like oil and metal most of the time. We don't have a fancy office or a waiting room with air conditioning. People just stand around or sit on a bench while we look at their stuff. It’s a straightforward way of doing things. We don't use any complicated words to explain what's wrong. We just show you what needs fixing. Highway life is fast but we just keep our own pace here at the workshop. We keep the shutters open for as long as we can to catch any late travelers who might need our help with their vehicles.
