Me Owe Mart

We are at Shop No 23 in the Huda Shopping Center in Sector 21. It’s a local mart where people come for their daily groceries. We have bread, eggs, milk, and all the usual stuff people need for their kitchens. The shop is quite busy in the mornings when everyone is getting ready for work and school. We have crates of vegetables delivered early, and I spend the first hour of the day sorting through them. The floor is a bit uneven, so the shopping carts rattle as people push them around. We don't have those fancy scanners; we just know the prices or look at the stickers. It’s a lot of work keeping everything fresh and throwing out the stuff that’s gone bad. My son helps out on the weekends when the crowd is bigger. The Huda center is an old building, so we have to deal with the occasional leak when it rains heavily. We keep a stool near the window for when there's a break in the customers. It’s a friendly place, and we often keep stuff aside for people if they call and ask. We don't have a big staff, just family mostly. It’s just a simple grocery store serving the people who live nearby. There’s a cat that hangs around the entrance, and we usually give it a bit of milk in the evenings.
