Haroon Scrap Works

Haroon Scrap Works is situated in Islampur Village. If you are looking for us, we are right opposite Jmd Garden. It’s a pretty straightforward location to find once you get into the village area. We deal with a lot of heavy lifting and moving things around all day long. The yard is usually full of various materials and bits of metal that we are sorting through. It’s not the cleanest job, but Haroon has been doing it for years and knows exactly how to handle everything that comes through the gate. Being across from Jmd Garden gives us a good landmark to tell people when they are bringing stuff over. The day usually starts early before the sun gets too high and the heat becomes a big problem. We wear old clothes because everything gets dusty and greasy pretty fast. There isn’t much of a front office, just a small space to keep the books and take payments. We aren't trying to be anything we aren't. It’s just a scrap yard in the middle of a village. The trucks come and go, the neighbors walk by, and we just keep on sorting and weighing. It can get loud when the machines are running or when we are loading up a big shipment. But that’s the nature of the work here. We take things as they come and try to get through the pile by the end of the day. It’s hard work, but it’s what we know. We don't mind the noise or the mess.
