Fruits'N More

Our place is at Q-96 in South City 1. It’s a pretty quiet neighborhood compared to the main roads. We mostly deal with the people who live right around here. The crates arrive early in the morning, sometimes before the sun is even up properly. We spend the first hour sorting through everything, getting the bruised stuff out of the way. It’s messy work, and your hands end up smelling like oranges or onions all day. The shop is tucked away, so it’s not like we get random crowds. It’s mostly the same faces every day. We’ve got the regular regulars who know exactly where everything is kept. Sometimes the delivery truck is late, and we have to explain why the mangoes aren't in yet. We don't have a fancy cooling system, just some fans and keeping the doors open. In the summer, it gets quite hot, so we try to keep the greens misted with water. It’s a lot of heavy lifting, moving boxes back and forth. We don't use a computer for everything; a lot of it is still written down in a ledger. It’s simple, and it works for us. We just try to keep the shelves full and the floor swept. It's just a regular grocery business. We aren't trying to be a big supermarket, just a place for the neighborhood to get what they need for dinner.
