The Palms Town & Country Club Gurgaon

Even though the club itself is famous in Gurgaon, we do a lot of our support work from this address in Roorkee. We’re located at 118 Chanderpuri, which is a fairly old part of town. The building is an old house that we’ve converted into a workspace. It’s got high ceilings and those old-fashioned fans that wobble a bit when you turn them on high. We handle things like membership files and some of the accounting from here because it’s a bit quieter and easier to focus. The street outside is quite narrow, so if two cars meet, they have to figure out who’s going to back up first. It’s a very local atmosphere, and we know most of the people living on the block. We don't have a fancy reception area or anyone to open the door for you; you just come in and find someone at a desk. We spend a lot of time on the phone talking to the main club in Gurgaon. Sometimes the power goes out in the afternoon, so we just take a break and sit on the front steps until it comes back. It’s a very different world from the high-end club environment, but it works for us. We keep things basic and don't spend money on stuff we don't need. It’s just a bunch of us working in an old house in Roorkee, getting the job done day by day.
