The Lemon Tree Hotel

Running this place at 601 Sartaj Singh Dahiya Apartments in Sector 17 Gurgaon keeps us on our feet most days. It’s not a huge fancy operation, just a regular hotel where people come to stay when they have work in the city. The morning starts with checking the booking list and making some tea before the guests start waking up. Gurgaon can be a bit overwhelming with all the traffic and the noise, but once you get inside the building, things quiet down a little bit. We spend a lot of time making sure the rooms are ready and that the linens are actually clean. Sometimes the elevator acts up or a light bulb goes out right when someone is checking in, and we just have to scramble to fix it. That’s just how it goes here. The staff mostly lives nearby, so we know the neighborhood pretty well. If someone needs to find a decent place for dinner or a quick shortcut to the main road, we usually have an answer. It’s a practical kind of life. We see a lot of business travelers who just want a bed and some decent water pressure in the shower. We try to keep the lobby tidy, though the dust from the street finds its way in no matter how much we sweep. It’s just us doing the daily work, making sure people have a key and a room that works. We don't have a big corporate team, just a few of us making sure things run.
