The Courtyard

You can find us right on Railway Road in Khatima, right by Mamta Nursing Home. It’s a busy little stretch of road in Uttranchal. Since we are so close to the nursing home, we see a lot of people coming and going all day long. The Courtyard is a place where we try to keep things simple for everyone. It’s not a huge establishment, but we have enough space for people to sit and rest for a while. The air here in Khatima feels a bit different than the big cities, especially when the breeze comes off the hills nearby. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that. It’s mostly just us looking after the place and making sure everything is clean and tidy. Sometimes the trains passing nearby make a bit of noise, but you get used to it after a couple of days staying here. We spend a lot of time cleaning and fixing little things that break around the property. It’s an old-fashioned way of running a business where we know most of the people who stop by. We don't use any complicated systems or software. If someone needs something, they just ask one of us. The building has its own character, maybe a few cracks in the paint here and there, but it feels like home to us. We just want to provide a spot on Railway Road where things aren't so chaotic. It’s a quiet life for the most part, apart from the occasional rush of visitors through the front door.
