The Bristol Hotel

The Bristol Hotel is right here in Sitapur, Uttar Pradesh. It’s a well-known spot in the town, though it isn't one of those massive modern buildings you see in the bigger cities. I’ve worked here for a long time, doing a bit of everything from checking in guests to making sure the kitchen has what it needs for breakfast. The lobby is a nice place to sit and watch the street outside. Sitapur is a traditional kind of place, and we try to keep that feeling in the hotel. The rooms are basic but they have what you need for a night's stay. We get travelers passing through U.P. and some local business folks who need a place to stay while they work nearby. It can get quite dusty outside with the traffic, so we are constantly cleaning the floors and the windows. I usually have a chat with the regulars who stay with us every month. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that. Word usually gets around by people just telling their friends about us. The staff is mostly local people who live nearby. Some days are very quiet and we just maintain the property, and other days we are completely full. It’s a steady job and I like being part of a place that’s been a fixture in Sitapur for so long. We just focus on being decent to everyone.
