About Suburbia The Urban Lounge – Tourism in Gurgaon
Working at Suburbia The Urban Lounge on the second floor of the Metropolitan Mall is a bit different from working on the street level. Down on MG Road, it’s all chaos and horns honking, but up here, it’s a bit more tucked away. I spend a lot of my time checking the chairs and making sure the glasses are clean before the evening crowd starts coming in. The mall is always full of people walking around, looking at windows, or going to the movies. Our place has a lot of corners and different spots to sit. I’ve been here for several months now, and I’ve learned how to carry three plates at once without dropping them. The lighting is kept a bit dim, so sometimes I trip over the edge of a rug if I’m not careful. It’s funny how people change when the sun goes down and they come in here to relax. We have to keep the music at a certain level, not too loud but enough so you can’t hear the mall speakers outside. My feet usually ache by the time my shift ends at midnight. Taking the service elevator down to the parking lot is the quietest part of my day. It’s just a regular job in a big building, but we try to keep things running smooth so nobody has to wait too long for their drinks or their food.
