S.O.S Childrens Villages Of India

Our office is at 248 Kendriya Vihar in Sector 56, Gurgaon. It is a large housing complex, so it feels very much like a community here. We use one of the apartments to run the administrative side of our work for the children's villages. We have turned the living room into a workspace with several desks and a big table for meetings. The walls are covered with photos of the kids and the different projects we are working on. It is a busy place. We have a lot of files to manage and we spend a lot of time on the phone with the different village directors. It is not a fancy corporate building. It is just a regular home where we do our work. We have a small kitchen where we make coffee and sometimes we all eat lunch together. The neighbors are very friendly and they know what we do. Sometimes we have volunteers come in to help us with the mail or to organize the records. We have been in this sector for a few years and it is a good location for us. We do a lot of the boring stuff like bookkeeping and logistics that keeps everything else running. It is a lot of hard work but we have a good group of people here who just get on with it every day.
