Sitel India Limited

Our building is out in Jaipur at Surana via Ghatwari and it is a long way from the city center. Sitel India Limited has a lot of people working here and it is always buzzing with the sound of people talking on their headsets. We have rows and rows of desks with computers and the lights are those bright white ones that never turn off. It is a 24-hour operation so there is always someone coming in for a shift while someone else is leaving to catch the bus. We have a locker room where we keep our bags and a small area to eat our tiffin. The air conditioning is always set very cold so most of us bring a sweater even when it’s boiling hot outside in Rajasthan. We spend hours answering questions and typing things into the system. Sometimes the systems go slow and we have to apologize to the people on the other end of the line. It is a lot of sitting in one place and looking at screens. On our breaks we go outside to get some fresh air but there isn't much to see except the road and some dry fields. It’s a busy life and we are just trying to get through the call volume every day. Most of us are quite young and we talk about movies or where we are going on the weekend when we finally get a day off.
