If you go down Palam Vihar Road near Sector - 5, you will see our shop, number 2, right there. Ashok Vihar is a busy area these days with all the new construction going on. Shree Shyam Paints & Sanitary Hardware has been around through a lot of those changes. The shop is pretty packed with pipes, taps, and heavy cans of paint, so you have to watch your step when you walk in. It gets a bit cramped when three or four people are all asking for different sized washers or a specific color tint at the same time. We don't have a big team or anything, just a few of us who know where everything is hidden on the high shelves. Hardware is a funny business because people only come in when something is broken or they are in the middle of a big project. You see a lot of stressed-out homeowners trying to fix a leak. We spend a lot of time looking at grainy photos on people's phones trying to identify a specific bolt they need. It’s not a glamorous job, but it is necessary work. The dust from the road comes in whenever the door is open, which is basically all day. We just keep the inventory moving and try to help folks get back to their repairs as fast as possible without making it complicated. It's just a regular local hardware store trying to stay organized.
