Rio Pizza is inside Shivani Apartment, which is at Plot-51 in Sector 56. Our kitchen is at number 405. It is a bit different because we are in an apartment building rather than a big shop on the high street. Most of the time, the hallways smell like baking bread and oregano. We spend our hours chopping vegetables and getting the dough ready on the counters. It gets quite warm near the ovens, especially when there are a lot of orders coming in at once. The delivery drivers wait downstairs or near the entrance of the building to pick up the boxes. We have a small table where we keep the receipts and the phone is usually sitting right there. It is a busy little space. Sector 56 has a lot of people living around here, so we see the same faces quite often. We don't have a big dining room or anything like that. It is mostly about getting the food into the boxes and out the door. Sometimes we have to remind people which floor we are on because the building has a few different sections. We have our supplies delivered in the mornings, usually flour and cheese. It’s a simple setup and we just focus on making the pizzas as they come in. Everyone in the kitchen knows their job and we just get on with it until we finish for the night. That is the way it goes every day for us here at the apartment.
