We are based out of Mednipur village, which is under the Tarighat post office in the Ghazipur district of UP. It is quite a different setting compared to the big city offices. Vinay Singh manages things here on the ground. The roads around the village can be a bit rough during the rains, but we manage to keep things moving. Most people here know each other, so it’s a tight community. We have our setup here because it’s where we have the space and the local connections. It’s a long way from the main highways sometimes, but we are right in the heart of the rural area where we are needed. The office is pretty basic, just some desks and chairs and the ledgers we keep. We don’t have any of that flashy signage or big glass windows. In the afternoons, it gets quite quiet around here, save for the occasional tractor passing by. Working in Ghazipur means you have to deal with power cuts now and then, but we just work around it. Our staff mostly comes from the nearby houses, so everyone walks to work. It’s a honest way to spend the day, just looking after the logistics from this small corner of Uttar Pradesh. We’ve been here long enough that the postman doesn’t even need the house number anymore to find us.
