Nirulas Potpourri

Nirulas Potpourri is over at House Number 03 in East Kidwai Nagar, New Delhi. This part of Delhi has a very specific feel to it, being a residential colony area. Our spot here isn't one of those massive fast-food joints you see in the malls. It’s a bit more tucked away and feels like part of the neighborhood. We spend our time preparing food and making sure the kitchen is clean. You can usually smell the food cooking from the street, which I think is a good sign. We have a small staff and we all know the regulars who come in from the nearby houses. The building is an older Delhi house style, so it has high ceilings and stays relatively cool even when it is scorching outside. We don't have a marketing department writing fancy slogans for us. We just serve the food and hope people enjoy it. Sometimes the delivery bikes are lined up outside, making the narrow street a bit crowded. We have to coordinate with the drivers to make sure the orders get out fast. It can be stressful when the lunch rush hits, but we have a good rhythm. East Kidwai Nagar is a central spot, so we get a lot of people passing through on their way to work. It’s a friendly place and we like being part of the local scene here. We’ve been at House Number 03 for a while now and it’s just our daily life.
