Down in Sukhrali, Gurgaon, you can find us at House No 100 in Sector-17. It is right near MDI, which most people around here use as a landmark when they are trying to find the place. Max Newyork Life operates out of this spot. It’s a residential-feeling area but we use it for our work. The house has a specific layout that we’ve adapted for desks and filing cabinets. There’s a lot of paperwork that comes through these doors every week. We try to keep it organized but sometimes the piles get a bit high on the corners of the desks. The neighborhood is mostly quiet during the day except for the occasional car or someone selling vegetables on the street outside. We have a small area where we sit during breaks to get some air. It is not a shiny glass tower like you see in other parts of Gurgaon, just a regular house turned into a workplace. The stairs creak a little if you walk too fast. We know the neighbors and they know us. It feels grounded being in Sukhrali. We have been at House No 100 for a while, and the routine is pretty much set. Morning comes, the shutters go up, and we start looking through the files again. It is a simple setup but it works for what we need to do. We just keep our heads down and handle the tasks. Sometimes the internet is slow, but we manage to get things done eventually.
