Our office is tucked away in Lohna village, which is part of the Palampur area in the Kangra district. It’s quite different from the big city offices most people imagine when they hear the name MakeMyTrip. We are surrounded by a lot of greenery and the air is much cleaner than what you find in Delhi or Mumbai. To get here, you have to follow the road past the local post office in Badla. It’s a quiet spot, though it gets a bit lively during the tourist season when everyone is heading to the hills. We handle travel bookings and help people figure out their holiday plans from right here in the village. Sometimes the internet speed drops when the weather turns bad, but we are used to that by now. We usually have tea together in the afternoons and look out at the mountains when we need a break from the screens. It’s a small team of locals mostly. We don't have fancy furniture or a cafeteria, just a few sturdy desks and our computers. The commute is easy for most of us since we live in the nearby villages. Working here feels more relaxed than the city, but we still have plenty to do with all the bookings coming in. It’s just how we do things here in Himachal, keeping it simple and getting the job done while enjoying the scenery.
