Makemytrip

We are based in Gurgaon, which is where Makemytrip has its main roots. Our office here is a big part of the local landscape. It’s a very busy place to work because things in the travel world are always changing. We have teams of people sitting at rows of desks, mostly staring at screens and talking to customers or hotels. It can get pretty loud in here when everyone is on the phone at once. Since we are in Gurgaon, we are surrounded by all the other big companies, but our office feels a bit more down-to-earth than some. We have our own little routines, like going out for tea in the afternoon or complaining about the traffic on the way in. The work is mostly about fixing booking problems and making sure the website is doing what it should. We don’t have a lot of fancy decorations, just some posters and the stuff people keep on their desks. It’s a lot of long hours sometimes, especially during the holiday seasons when everyone wants to go away. We just try to keep up with the emails and the calls. It’s a fast-paced environment, but we are just regular people trying to make travel a bit easier for everyone else. We’ve been in this city for a long time and it feels like home to the company now. We just get on with it, day after day, through the busy seasons and the quiet ones.
