Our place is at 263/20 Om Nagar in Gurgaon. It’s one of those parts of town that is always changing, with new buildings going up and the roads getting fixed every other month. We run a guest house here, and it’s a pretty simple setup. We have rooms for people who are in town for work or just passing through. It’s not like the huge fancy hotels you see on the main highway, but we have clean sheets and the fans work well. Most of our guests are regulars who like that it’s a bit quieter here than in the center of Gurgaon. We spend a lot of time making sure the water tanks are full and the kitchen has enough tea and milk for the morning. Sometimes the power goes out in the neighborhood, but we have a backup generator to keep the lights on for the guests. The staff lives nearby, so we’re around if someone needs something late at night. We don’t have a big marketing team or anything; people usually find us through word of mouth or because they’ve stayed here before. It’s just a practical building in Om Nagar where we try to give people a decent place to rest their heads without charging them a fortune.
