Eva Publishing House

We started this thing here in Firozabad quite a few years back now. Eva Publishing House is just a small setup, nothing fancy, tucked away in Uttar Pradesh. My father used to handle books and papers, and I just sort of took over when the time felt right. Most days, we are busy dealing with manuscripts and printing schedules that never seem to go quite as planned. It gets pretty dusty in the office with all the stacks of paper everywhere. We don't have a big fancy lobby or anything like that. Just some desks and a lot of ink. People from around the neighborhood stop by sometimes to ask about getting their work printed or just to see what we are doing. It’s hard work, honestly. The machines break down more than they should, and the heat in U.P. doesn't help much during the summer months. We just try to get the books out the door and make sure the words look right on the page. Sometimes we stay late when a big order comes in, eating snacks at our desks while the printers hum in the background. It isn't a glamorous life, but it keeps us busy and connected to the local community. We know the postman well and the guys at the tea stall across the way. That’s just how it is here in Firozabad for us. We keep the doors open and do the work day after day without making much of a fuss about it.
