We are located up on the second floor at 2200/7 in Gurgaon Village, right by Kataria Chowk. It’s a busy spot and we’ve been here for a while now. Most days start pretty early for us because there is always a lot of packing to do. We spend most of our time wrapping furniture in old blankets or taping up cardboard boxes that we get from the market. It’s hard work, mostly lifting heavy stuff and trying to fit it all into the trucks without leaving any gaps. Sometimes the stairs in these old buildings are narrow, so we have to be careful not to scrape the walls. People usually come to see us at the office when they are feeling stressed about moving houses. We just sit down and talk about how many rooms they have and what kind of truck they might need. It’s not fancy here, just a desk and some chairs and plenty of packing tape lying around. Moving things is what we know how to do. Some days are longer than others, especially when the traffic near the chowk gets backed up in the evening. We just keep at it until the job is done. The guys who work here have been doing this for years, so they know how to handle a fridge or a big wooden cupboard. It’s just us doing our daily work in the village, making sure the boxes get where they need to go.
