Our shop is tucked away in Sector 7, Gurgaon, at number 667. If you walk past, you’ll see the heavy equipment and maybe some parts lying around. Delhi Cranex Pvt. Ltd. is basically a place where we deal with cranes and other big lifting machines. It’s not a clean or quiet environment. There’s usually the sound of metal clanking or someone using a wrench. We spend a lot of time looking at hydraulic systems and making sure the cables are in good shape. The office part is just a corner with a couple of desks and a computer that’s always a bit slow. We get calls from construction sites all over Gurgaon when their machinery breaks down or they need something moved. Most of our staff are guys who aren't afraid to get their hands greasy. We’ve been in Sector 7 for a long time, so we know all the other shop owners on the block. We don't do much advertising because the word usually gets around when you do honest work. Sometimes we have to go out to a site in the middle of the night if a crane gets stuck. It’s unpredictable work, but it keeps us on our toes. We just drink our chai, look at the blueprints, and try to keep everything running without too many breakdowns. It’s just a regular local business doing its thing every day.
