Our location is over at 595 Vijay Nagar in Alwar, Rajasthan. Even though the name mentions Delhi, we are firmly rooted here in this neighborhood. It’s a standard building where we manage the guest rooms and all the daily chores that come with running a hotel. There is a lot of cleaning to do every single morning. We spend a lot of time on laundry and making sure the floors are mopped properly. Alwar can get incredibly hot in the summer, so we spend a lot of time checking the cooling systems. The street outside in Vijay Nagar is usually quite active with local traffic and people going about their business. We don't have a massive staff, just a few of us who handle the front desk and the maintenance. It’s not a very fancy place, but it’s practical for people who need a place to stay while they are traveling through Rajasthan. We have to deal with things like leaky taps or light bulbs that need changing quite often. It’s just part of the job. Most of our day is spent at the counter or in the hallways. We don't use any complicated systems, just a simple log of who is coming and going. It gets quiet late at night, and that’s when we finally get a chance to sit down. We’ve been in this spot for a while and the locals all know where to find us.
