Chinar Junction (Restaurant)

We are a small restaurant located at House Number 82 on Plot 428. We are right on Street Number 1, which puts us right on the edge of New Delhi and Haryana. It is a very busy spot to be in. There is always noise from the traffic and people shouting outside. Inside the kitchen, it is even louder with the exhaust fans going and the sound of the tandoor. We focus on making food that tastes like home. We don't have a fancy printed menu with pictures. We just tell people what we have cooked for the day. Most of our customers are workers from the nearby area or people driving through who need a quick meal. The tables are basic and the chairs don't always match, but the food is hot and that is what matters most to us. We spend most of our mornings at the market picking out the best vegetables and meat we can find. It’s a lot of manual labor, carrying sacks and cleaning the floors before the lunch rush starts. We are a small team and we all do a bit of everything, from cooking to washing the dishes. It’s a tough business because the margins are thin and the hours are long, but we’ve managed to keep the doors open. We just hope that when people leave, they feel like they had a good meal.
