Ashok Kumar Gupta Shuttering House

We are based out in Pace City, Phase-Vi, which is right after you pass the Hero Honda factory. The yard is near the Mini Truck Union, just off National Highway 8. It is a busy spot with trucks constantly moving in and out. We deal with shuttering materials, so there is always a lot of heavy steel plates and wooden beams stacked up. Our days start early because the construction crews want their materials before the sun gets too high. It is hard physical work, and our clothes usually end up covered in grease and rust by the end of the shift. The yard is open to the sky, so we are at the mercy of the weather in Delhi. When it rains, the ground gets muddy and moving the heavy stuff becomes a real pain for everyone. We have been here for a good while, watching the highway get bigger and the traffic get worse. Most of our regulars are local contractors who have been coming to us for years. We don't have a fancy office or anything like that. Just a small desk where we keep the books and handle the cash. Sometimes the truck union guys drop by for a chat when things are slow. It is a loud environment with the highway noise and the clanking of metal, but we are used to it by now. We just focus on getting the orders loaded.
